A company the size of KLM occupies a central position in society. We aim to strengthen the ties we have with local societies both at our homebase in the Netherlands and at our destinations around the world. We not only what to bring economic advantages, but also to make a real, social contribution to these societies.
We do this by offering humanitarian support, if this is what is required, but also structural help through our AirCares charity programme. Many KLM staff also take part in volunteer work, both in the Netherlands and abroad. Through Destination Nature we hope to contribute to the sustainable development of nature and biodiversity.
KLM believes that a good dialogue with our surroundings is one factor that is crucial to corporate social responsibility. Around Schiphol we are in constant dialogue about issues relating to noise pollution. We also discuss our policy and activities with other stakeholders.
Education and science are also focuses of attention. We pay particular attention to people who live in deprived circumstances.
