Enjoy the best in international film at the annual Gothenburg International Film Festival every January, and celebrate Swedish national identity with the natives every June 6, National Day. Join in with much older celebrations on Midsummer's Eve, June 23. Giant outdoor stages are a feature of the major Gothenburg Culture Festival each August, while all the charm of Yuletide is offered by the city's Christmas Markets throughout December.
