Wrestle in the mud at the free pop festival Popaganda in August. Follow the local custom of imitating a frog as you dance around the Maypole after too many glasses of snaps (Schnaps) on Midsummer's Eve (Jun). Stockholm's mammoth Skansen open-air museum offers up its own charming festivities for traditional Lucia Day. A young girl representing Lucia arrives in procession all dressed in white with her maids. The event ends with a spectacular fireworks display.
