Wrestle in the mud at the free pop festival Popaganda in August. Follow the local custom of imitating a frog as you dance around the Maypole after too many glasses of snaps (Schnaps) on Midsummer's Eve (Jun). In July, glimpse world class athletes as they whizz past in the DN Galan games, and enjoy good music at the Stockholm Jazz Festival or Accelerator rock festival. Watch arthouse flicks at the Stockholm International Film Festival in November and listen to candle-lit traditional Lucia concerts on December 13.
Skansen Lucia Day

Stockholm's mammoth Skansen open-air museum offers up its own charming festivities for traditional Lucia Day. A young girl representing Lucia arrives in procession all dressed in white with her maids. The event ends with a spectacular fireworks display.
