Celebrate the first new wine of the year. Bars and restaurants make a song and dance about Beaujolais Nouveau on and after the third Thursday in November. Party on the streets when the city lights up for December's three-day Fête des Lumières and drool over the World Cup of cooking at the biennial Bocuse d'Or in January (next in 2009). See drama, dance and music beneath the stars at the city's two Roman amphitheatres between June and August at Nuits des Fourvières and take in a spot of tennis at the Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon in October.
