Start ushering in the New Year early – even before midday on New Year's Eve – and head to the races at Kincsem Park. Rock out at the Sziget Festival starting in early August, then gaze up over the Danube at zigzagging aeroplanes by day and lavish fireworks by night for St Stephen's Day. Wave goodbye to summer at the naughty Budapest Parade, a procession of groovy floats loaded to the gunnels with scantily clad babes on the last Saturday of August. Raise your glasses at the Royal Palace wine festival in September. Skate round the outdoor ice rink behind Heroes' Square to keep warm come winter.
Budapest Art Fair

French, British, Slovakian and other international art galleries regularly exhibit at the Budapest Art Fair. Both classic and contemporary works are on display at the Mûcsarnok gallery. Although young, the event is quickly gaining international recognition.
