Airport Quito
Quito's Mariscal Sucre Airport is located 2,813 metres above sea-level in the Andes, so breathe deeply on arrival. It's only 6 km (4 miles) north of the La Mariscal district and a taxi ride takes about 15 minutes. The new Quito International Airport is expected to open in late 2010.

Specific airport features
When leaving Quito, make sure you have about US$45 in cash for departure tax. You pay this at check-in. If you need to withdraw money, there are ATM machines between the domestic and international terminals. They take all internationally recognised credit cards. To change money, go to one of the two change bureaux at International Departures or Arrivals. Note that they have only basic international currencies like pound sterling, euro, Swiss francs, and Canadian dollars, plus a good range of South American currencies.

Terminals
KLM operates out of the International Terminal with flights bound for Dutch destinations. Fly to Amsterdam Schiphol to connect with pan-European and long-haul flights.

Two
Transport between terminals
There are only two terminals – Domestic and International, next to each other. If you have a connecting flight between the two, it's a short, easy walk across.
International Terminal
All international flights arrive at and depart from the International Terminal. These include flights from Europe, North America and South America. Airlines range from Ecuadorian companies to several major European and North American carriers.
Domestic Terminal
All flights within Ecuador operate from the Domestic Terminal. Carriers are mostly Ecuadorian.
