Review of Lima
Lima
Flights to Lima reveal a rich tapestry of colonial traditions, mysterious ancient civilizations and contemporary living.
Things to do
Wander along the jagged cliffs and mosaic-tiled paths of Parque del Amor, passing canoodling couples on your way. At dusk, foolhardy adventurers, strapped to motor-powered parachutes, launch themselves over the Pacific towards the setting sun.
Shopping
Travel to Lima's chic Miraflores district for its outdoor handicrafts market. Colourful displays of indigenous wares, live folkloric music and the enticing smell of roasted almonds create an enchanting atmosphere.
Restaurants
Take Lima flights and enjoy fresh Peruvian seafood served in shady colonial-era patios near the historic centre's San Francisco church. Savour classic Tiradito - fine strips of fish marinated in lime and chillies.
Nightlife
An animated artsy scene surrounds Lima's main square in bohemian Barranco. Sip a refreshing Pisco Sour cocktail in a dark-wood jazz bar and celebrate your Lima city break in style.
When to go
KLM has frequent flights to Lima. Time your holiday in Lima to catch top events like October's Procession of the Lord of Miracles or July's Independence day celebrations.

The only thing that has not change yet is the traffic !!, but I guess in all capital cities is the same. I making plans for my next visit next year, and I can't waitcholita - England

Lima and Peru04 Feb 13
Wonderful holiday in Peru, we visited 4 areas, Lima/coast, Cusco/Andes, Lake Titicaca/Puno, Puerto Maldano/Amazon - all completely different and fascinating, the only consistent thing was the friendliness of the people. Full marks to KLM - the flight was long but we were very well looked after, I'd certainly recommend them.Report abusestew - u.k.

Discovering Lima19 Mar 12
Usually Lima is not really considered on the tours going to Peru and is just a place to catch your next flight to Cuzco, Titicaca lake, Jungle excursions, etc. Well, I think it is worth to spend a few days there and explore the city. Althought a bit chaotic, Lima has a lot to offer in terms of sighseeing, culture and food tasting. There is also a vaste offer of peruvian handycrafts from the different regions. Dowtown Lima is a Unesco site and for sure it's a must to be seen.Traveller1 - Sweden

- During the weekend there are different squares in Lima, where house maids and also some restaurants hold stands with very good food at extremely reasonable prices. Try to ask your hotel when and where. - Visit the ruines of Pachacamac 40min driving from Lima, very nice and interesting place. Close nearby possibility to see the peruvian "paso" horses show and try good country side restaurants. - Dont miss the nightlife in Barranco, good bars and wide selection of cokctails made with Pisco and exotic fruits. - Visit the Lomas de Lachay (only seasonal during winter and spring) truly a little heaven in the coastal peruvian desert. A bit far away, but there are organized tours.

Amazing city!!27 Feb 12
I had the most wonderful time during a week in Lima and 4 days in Cuzco/Ollantaytambo/Macciu Picciu. This is not a place to be missed. Life in Lima is lively and wonderful, and the people are just as wonderful. We found an amazing guesthouse (for 3 of us) for about $100 per night in the nicest part of Lima, the food was consistently incredible (!!), we found a very fun and safe driver for $60 per day who took us far from the city and all around, we swam with sea lions... I could go on and on. Best vacation ever.kentuskanal - Canada
