Airport St Maarten
St Maarten opened its new four-level airport in 2006. Serving over 1.7 million visitors a year, it is a hub for many of the North Eastern Caribbean islands such as St Barths, Nevis, Anguilla, Antigua, Saba, St Eustatius and St Kitts. Situated 15 km north-west of Philipsburg (the capital of St Maarten), the best way to get from the airport to the city is with a taxi.

Immigration can be quite time-consuming, especially if another international flight arrives at about the same time. Keep this in mind if connecting to another flight. On the other hand, departures are usually hassle free.
