Berlin
Take flights to Berlin for skyline views across Berlin, late-night parties and perfectly spiced Currywurst.
Things to do
Rise early to beat the crowds to the Reichstag, where an elevator ascends to Norman Foster's crystalline glass dome. Berlin unfolds like a pop-up map from the platform, with views from the Tiergarten's greenery to the Fernsehturm.
Shopping
Find oddities and souvenirs at the weekend Strasse des 17. Juni Flea Market. Browse Berlin's boutiques for original gifts from Soviet-era souvenirs to Art Deco jewellery and Berlin streetwear. Shoppers pause for coffee and people-watching on café terraces.
Restaurants
Sizzling sounds and tangy aromas lure Berliners to Curry 36 on Mehringdamm. Join the queue to sample this ultimate street food on your Berlin city break: Currywurst (curried sausage), slathered in spicy tomato sauce, accompanied by fries and cabbage salad.
Nightlife
Head for fun-loving Simon-Dach-Strasse, no ordinary bar mile, after Berlin flights. One minute you're whisked back to the 1940s with red velvet and smooth jazz, the next you're dancing in a space-age lounge or watching gigs in a converted loft.
When to go
KLM has frequent flights to Berlin. Time your Berlin holiday to catch global parades at May’s Carnival of Cultures, or fireworks exploding above the Brandenburg Gate on New Year's Eve.

Amazing Berlin15 Mar 12
I've been in Berlin several times already, but this city can always be amazing, and always offers something new. I think this is one of the very best cities in Europe, a real "must" forFireman - Italy

Berlin, a historic city27 Feb 12
For me, with interests in WW 1 & 2, Berlin is the place where a lot of history is made, and still is visible. The historic places are really worth a visit, and the difference between the mer East and West part is still visible, but it changes. Also for the wife there is a lot to do and see, like the Kudamm, Europaplatz and the new shopping district on Alexanderplatz. So we like Berlin very much, and visit it, also for the famous Country Music Meeting, twice a year at least. What also is really well organised is the public transport. inside the circle line you dan't have to wait longer than 5 minutes, outside it is 10 minutes. And the colour will guide you to your destination.Nohome - Den Helder

Take a Trabi tour, and a boat ride on the Spree. That will show you Berlin in a very nice way.
