Havana

Stroll through the plazas of Old Havana to discover the twin-towered cathedral and the Museo de la Revolución - in a former presidential palace. Cruise along the ocean road in an old American car or motor out to the Hemingway museum in southeast Havana.
Shopping
Books and Cuban memorabilia fill Old Havana's Plaza de Armas, or buy art and decorated cigar boxes at the craft market near the harbour. Genuine Cuban cigars from La Casa del Habano make a rare gift for friends at home.
Restaurants
Eating well during your Havana city break includes dining at home restaurants where Cuban ingenuity has produced some creative cuisine. The best front room diners (paladars) are found in Vedado and Miramar. The exception is famous La Guarida in Centro.
Nightlife
Flights to Havana deliver hot tickets from cabaret under the stars in Marianao to ballet in Centro's imposing Gran Teatro. Sizzling salsa ensembles play in the bars of Old Havana. Finish the night alfresco on the city's seawall with the locals.
When to go
KLM has frequent flights to Havana. Choose the date of your Havana airline tickets to catch February's cigar festival, or biennial shows of art in April and ballet in October. Jazz and international film events draw visitors in December.
