A flight to Havana takes you straight to the party capital of Cuba. Old Havana is home to elegant Spanish architecture and restaurants inside restored colonial buildings.
The National Peso (Moneda Nacional) ($CUP or MN) is the currency, though visitors are charged in pesos convertibles (CUC), roughly equivalent in value to the US dollar. Moneda Nacional is useful for buying peanuts, pastries, local pizzas etc.

110V AC, 60 Hz, though most hotels take 220V. Electrical outlets take flat prong plugs and some high-end hotels now take British three-prong plugs; always bring an adaptor.
