Restaurants in Kiev
The elegant Old Town offers high-end options, while central Kreshchatyk has everything from cheap and tasty stolovaya (canteens) like Domashnyaya Kukhnya, to elegant Euro-Asian fusion at Concord. Reasonably priced beer tents line the riverside parks of Lypky and Pechersk in summer. Most restaurants open 12pm-12am, but 24-hour options can also be found citywide. A tip of about 15% is usual, and not included.

High-end Georgian cuisine
The high-end Mimino restaurant, in the heart of Kiev's Podol district, dishes
out delicious Georgian cuisine. Traditional shashlyk marinated
kebabs, roast suckling pig and Satcivi chicken breast in walnut sauce

vodkas. Traditional textiles and slate ovens enhance the rustic

Quality Ukrainian cooking
Recognised by many as the best of the traditional Ukrainian restaurants,
Pervak, off main street Kreshchatyk, has tried to recreate the elegance of
turn-of-the-century Kiev. Set in seven separate rooms - many with balconies

Post-Soviet kitsch
South of the city in historic Pechersk, the SSSR summer café offers the full
Soviet retro experience, with ultra-kitsch dishes including a
hammer-and-sickle-shaped sausage, and specialities from each of the former
Soviet republics. The traditional Soviet holidays are still celebrated, and
guests can catch their own carp or perch to be cooked to their
specification.

Ukrainian home cooking
One of the traditional stolovaya (canteens), Domashnyaya Kukhnya, on
central Kreshchatyk Street is packed at peak times. With plenty of choice
including homemade salads, soups, and beer, it's possible to have a
traditional Ukrainian feast without breaking the bank. Some dishes might
surprise foreign palates - salo, for example, is simply pig fat.
