Bologna G Marconi Airport is Italy's third most important international airport and handles nearly six million passengers each year. Located just 6 km (4 miles) from Bologna, taxis take passengers into the city centre in 15 minutes. An Aerobus shuttle service operates between the airport and the main railway station and takes around 20 minutes.
The Aerobus shuttle service takes passengers from Bologna Airport to Bologna's central railway station between 5am and 11.30pm daily. The journey takes around 20 minutes and tickets, which cost €6, can be purchased on the bus. Direct shuttle buses leave every 15 minutes during peak times while other services stop in between.
With the city centre just 6 km (4 miles) away, taxis are a convenient way to reach your hotel in Bologna. The journey takes around 15 minutes and costs approximately €16. Taxis are available 24 hours a day outside the terminal building.
From motorway A14, take the exit for Bologna-San Lazzaro; from the A13, take the exit Bologna-Arcoveggio; and from the A1, follow signs for Bologna-Borgo Panigaleo. From all motorways and Bologna city centre, follow signs for the airport and leave the Tangenziale at junction 4. The journey to the city centre takes around 15 minutes, although this can increase during rush hour. Pick up hire cars from several companies on Level –1 of the multi storey P2 car park.
