Barcelona airport (El Prat de Llobregat) is one Spain's busiest, transporting around 34.4 million passengers a year from two terminals. Just 14 km (8.7 miles) from the city centre, the cheap and convenient Aerobús takes you there in a speedy 35 minutes.
The train is fast and comfortable. Line R2 North - Sant Celoni / Maçenet Massanes (RENFE) takes you into Barcelona Sants in around 20 minutes at 30-minute intervals and costs €3.60 one way. The station is located close to Terminals T2A and T2B and connected by a footbridge. There is a shuttle bus to/from Terminal T1. Once at Barcelona Sants you can transfer to the Metro or other Rail services.
The cheap and convenient Aerobus (A1) stops directly outside Terminal T1, delivering you to Plaça Catalunya via Placa Espanya. The journey time is around 35 minutes and buses run every 5-10 minutes. Single tickets cost €5.30 and are purchased on the bus. At busy times the bus gets quite full so choose a different option if you have lots of luggage.
