Fish restaurants cluster near Hamburg port. Try Hamburg specialities, from eel soup at Fischereihafen to beef and herring Labskaus in the Old Commercial Room. Gourmet cuisine is at home between the villas of Elbchausee boulevard and by the harbour, at Michelin-starred Le Canard. Wholesome organic eateries like Schanzenstern clutter the fashionable Schanzenviertel. Most restaurants open for lunch until 3pm and again for dinner from around 5pm. A 10% tip is usually expected.
