Nightlife in Rotterdam
Rotterdam has all kinds of nightlife, but the dance club scene leads the way. From converted city-centre cinema .off_corso to renovated warehouses at the harbour, Rotterdam rocks to techno, trance and other fancy sounds. Most clubs don't get going until midnight, when bars are getting ready to close, and keep going until about 5am. Bars range from Old Dutch Café de Oude Sluis at Delfshaven to shiny modern places along the river.

Cool tropical cocktail bar
So skilled are Toko94's ultra-cool cocktail-mixing staff that they are
described as 'mixologists'. Under the low bar lights they shake up a tidal
wave of tropical drinks to accompany Caribbean and Asian food, along with
jazz and other laid-back music.

Gin by the harbour
In the old-world setting of Delfshaven, Proeflokaal De Ooievaar is
Rotterdam's only jenever 'sampling room', stocking dozens of Dutch and
Belgian gin varieties. Its intimate surroundings merit the prized Dutch

Traditional Dutch bar
Dating from 1912, Café De Oude Sluis is a genuine slice of Delfshaven's old

De Doelen
Modern concert hall
Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the Netherlands' top symphony
orchestras, has its home at De Doelen concert hall and congress centre.
Opened in 1966 and expanded several times since then, the hall also hosts
jazz, world music and other concerts.
