Las Vegas - McCarran International Airport
McCarran International Airport is the sixth busiest airport in the US and funnels 41.5 million passengers annually through two terminals with nearly 100 gates divided together. Centrally located, the world-famous Strip is a short one-mile taxi ride from the airport.
There are more than 50 shops in various locations throughout Terminals 1 and 3, most past the security gates. In addition to tax- and duty-free shops, passengers can pick up a wide variety of merchandise from necessities to extravagances.
Crabtree & Evelyn, Brookstone and Bose are just a few of the name-brand retailers and many of the hotel-casinos have logo shops for picking up last-minute Las Vegas souvenirs emblazoned with recognizable names such as Bellagio, Caesars Palace, The Mirage and more.
Free Wireless internet access is available in all terminals although it is worth noting that you may have to wander from your prescribed gate to find a truly "hot" spot. For those who didn't bring their laptops with them, there are also free computer kiosks but only in Terminal 1 at C and D gates.
East & Drink
There are more than 30 dining establishments, mostly of the fast-food variety, many with familiar names like Pizza Hut Express and Burger King. However, there are several highly regarded outlets serving meals here including pub grub at Gordon Biersch Brewing Company, upscale hotdogs at Jody Maroni's Sausage Kingdom, and signature pizzas from Wolfgang Puck Express.
All restaurants are beyond the security gates and while quality is generally high, so are the prices.
