Lima is at its best during the southern summer (Dec-Mar), when the weather is sunny and hot (26°C/78.8°F). The rest of the year the sun is covered by Lima's famous garua, a steady cloud caused by the Pacific Humboldt current, but this very rarely results in rain – even in winter (Jun-Sep) temperatures average out at 19°C (66.2°F).
