Climate information

Amsterdam has a maritime climate, with extremes moderated by the North Sea. The months between November and January are the wettest, but the temperature rarely dips below freezing for long even in January and February, and more usually hovers around 2°C (3°4F). The summer months – June to August – can be warm, with normal peak temperatures of 25°C (78°F) but occasionally reaching as high as 30°C (88°F). At the first hint of even moderately warm sunshine, cafés and restaurants open their outside terraces.
