Things to do in Vilnius
Many sights in Vilnius are clustered around the romantic Old Town, well within walking distance of each other. A tour of the 14th-century Higher Castle, the neo-classical Cathedral and the Lithuanian National Museum (closed Mon) serves as an introduction to Lithuanian culture. A visit to the Tolerance Centre (closed Sat) expands on the horrors of Soviet and Nazi suppression of the Jewish community, while the eccentric sculptural memorials in Europa Park, 10km north of the city, provide hope for the future.
