The Middle East's busiest airport, glossy Dubai International Airport flies more than 37 million passengers a year from three terminals. The airport is minutes away from Dubai city centre and some 170km from Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE.

Terminals
KLM flights depart from more than one terminal, so always check in advance to find out which terminal your flight departs from. If you make a mistake, it's a 20-minute transfer by shuttle bus between Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

Transport between terminals
A shuttle bus service connects the three terminals, departing from outside Arrivals. Allow 20 minutes for transfer. Terminals 1 and 3 are interconnected by a covered walkway.
Terminal 1 (Sheikh Rashid Terminal)
Domestic and international long-haul flights operate from Terminal 1. The check-in area is on the ground floor.
Terminal 2
Most flights operating out of Terminal 2 are scheduled and charter flights to regional destinations and special events like Haj in Saudi Arabia. Terminal 2 is a single-storey building so the check-in area is on the ground floor.
Terminal 3
The spacious atrium-style Terminal 3 opened in 2008. The check-in area is on the ground floor, with 60 self-service check-in kiosks.
