    Shopping in San Francisco

Union Square is the heart of San Francisco's shopping scene, but for inexpensive gifts, Chinatown is best. For vintage fashion and rare CDs, Haight Street's La Rosa and Amoeba Records are the places to go. In North Beach it's about poetry from City Lights Books, while foodies love Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero. For indoor shopping, try Market Street's modern Westfield San Francisco Centre. Most stores are open daily 10am to 6pm.
