We flew into Edinburgh, as we were visiting families around the area. sadly we found May very cold, which was unusual. Flying KLM was excellent for us as when we left Vancouver our baggage was not touched until we landed in Edinburgh, with regret I dislike Heathrow and prefer Vancouver via Amsterdam direct to Edinburgh.whiteheather - canada

KLM is a caring airline, however if you are a tall person like me. pay for the extra legroom, I will on my next flight in 2014.......thank you KLM

Edinburgh - A great place to start to see Scotland21 Dec 12
My wife and I have been to Scotland 4 times over the last 3 years. The people are so friendly from the staff in hotels and B&Bs to locals in the Pubs. We have visited Edinburgh, Glasglow, Andrews and several small towns and villages. We look forward to returning again.B - USA

If staying in St. Andrews for a week or so, try renting a flat in the town. It's a great way to be able to see as much as possible during your visit and many provide a combo washer/dryer so yo can limit the amount of luggage to bring.

The town of Edinburgh connects you to 100s of years of history stepping off of the plane. With the castle in the city center, the shops, color of the stones....it is magnificent! We attended the Tattoo in August of 2012....it sirred the deepest parts of the human soul!Galen - USA

Don't miss driving up to St. Andrews. The Queen's yacht is well worth the trip!
