Review of Beijing
Beijing
Catch flights to Beijing to visit imperial palaces you’ll never forget, admire artesanal jade carvings and refuel with succulent roast duck.
Things to do
Experience Beijing’s imperial days, walking through the maze of graceful buildings in Beijing’s Forbidden City. Ornamental tracery adorns imperial balconies, silk tapestries grace throne rooms and residences, and colourful koi brighten royal garden pools.
Shopping
Carved jade necklaces and strings of pearls hang in Beijing’s Silk Market. Bargain for jewellery or browse stalls selling silk scarves, filigreed incense burners and porcelain tea pots, perfect souvenirs of a Beijing city break.
Restaurants
The clamour of Beijing diners and the scent of roast duck, steamed fish and aromatic vegetables fill the streets of Dongcheng, Beijing’s city centre. Choose from simple noodle shops or elegant restaurants with bamboo screens and traditional Chinese music.
Nightlife
After flights to Beijing, relax over frosty mugs of German beer, chilled Chinese wine and trendy American martinis in the modern bars of Chaoyang. Rock music and electronic dance tunes fill the air as party-goers from around the world enjoy their Beijing holiday.
When to go
KLM has frequent flights to Beijing. Plan your holiday when Beijing stages the Dashanzi International Arts Festival in May or during the spectacular parades and fireworks of the Chinese New Year in winter.

Travel to Beijing from UK air port is fairly easy . Once you get to Amaterdam it's your one stop away to Bejing! since my last visit it has changed a lot - some for good ! It's over crowded with trafic! So give ample time where and when you are going there! Taxi drivers are good but aware that you pay them what's in your metre some Taxi driver may ask you more !! Love the city -lot to see and Enjoy! But be carefull where you are going --ask your hotel to tell the Taxi driver your destination as the most of the taxi driver do not speak English! Advise is to have a english spoken person with you if you really want to see Beijing and Enjoy in the city and do your job and meetings!!Ali - UK
