Airport Chengdu
The modern Chengdu Shangliu International Airport, 16 km southwest of downtown Chengdu, is the biggest airport in southwest China. The international departure building, built in 2004, cost RMB3.8 billion and brought the airport up to the best international standards. A new terminal and runway under construction are expected to be complete by 2011. The shuttle bus into the city centre takes 35 minutes.
