Review of Moscow
Moscow
A Moscow city break means a visit to a dynamic capital, with designer labels in Kuznetsky Most, hip new clubs in Kitai Gorod, and restaurants along Tverskaya and the lanes of Patriarshy Prudy.
Things to do
Tickets to Moscow's Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts cover the Grand Masters to the Impressionists, while The Kremlin offers a trip back in time, as does a walk through the graves at Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow. Travel stress is relieved at the Sandunovsky Baths.
Shopping
Moscow high life can be found at Kuznetsky Most, but main street Tverskaya offers western chains. Patriarch's Ponds has quirky boutiques, with souvenirs on Arbat or at pre-revolutionary Eliseevsky Magazin - a definite place to visit before return flights from Moscow.
Restaurants
Flights to Moscow offer a degree of choice unthinkable a decade ago, with good-value eating along Tverskaya, and gourmet dining, like Metropol Zal, available everywhere. Georgian specialities can be found on Arbat, with the best open-air choices around Kuznetsky Most.
Nightlife
Travel to Moscow's Tverskoi district for culture at the Bolshoi Theatre or live music at B2. Soho Rooms is the current hot clubland choice, but Kitai Gorod has numerous alternatives, as does increasingly hip Kurskaya.
When to go
KLM has frequent flights to Moscow. Time your Moscow holidays for New Year celebrations in January, or victory parades in May. You need to book early for tickets to Moscow's Kremlin Cup in October.

Horrible place...27 Feb 12
People here treat each other like dirt, and the city itself is equally dirty. There are a few super-rich people who exuberantly flaunt their wealth while the rest remain in poverty. There's very little cultural value to seeing the city, but since I'm a sucker for Russian literature I found it appealing walking the same streets as Dostoevsky once did. The food is absolutely horrible, and the prices for just about everything are unbelievably high.kentuskanal - Canada
