Watch the fireworks at Chinese Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival. Enjoy yuanxiao - glutinous rice balls – during the Lantern Festival, which takes place on the 15th day of the first moon (around mid-Feb to mid-Mar) and marks the end of the New Year celebrations. Dance to a mix of punk, metal, rock and jazz at the annual, four-day Midi Music Festival in late April/early May. Taste Chinese mooncakes during the Mooncake Festival on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month (mid-Sep).
