Kairo International Airport
Cairo International Airport has undergone extensive modernisation. It is situated 21 kilometres (13 miles) north-east of central Cairo, and 40 kilometres (25 miles) from the Giza Pyramids. A taxi will whisk you downtown in about an hour.
Terminal 1's state-of-the-art Air Mall, situated near International Arrivals Hall 3, has an extensive selection of gift, clothing and book shops. Shopping for departing passengers is more limited so it is advisable to shop before checking in. Terminal 3 has an extensive shopping area after security, including Shiseido cosmetics, along with duty-free stores and newsagents. Shops do not accept Egyptian pounds, only US dollars. There are a number of banks and foreign exchange outlets available in all terminals.
Free wireless high-speed internet access is installed in Terminals 1 and 2.
