Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport
The modern Chengdu Shangliu International Airport, 16 km (10 miles) southwest of downtown Chengdu, is the biggest airport in southwest China and handles 29 million passengers. The international departure building, built in 2004, cost RMB3.8 billion and brought the airport up to the best international standards. The shuttle bus into the city centre takes 35 minutes.
Chengdu Shangliu International Airport has a duty-free shop in International Departures, which sells handicrafts, calligraphy, paintings and traditional Chinese medicines; there are also gift shops, fashion stores and newsagents.
WiFi internet access is available in the airport through China Telecom.

The Airport Restaurant at Chengdu Shangliu International Airport is a huge place serving Cantonese and Sichuanese main meals and snacks to as many as 260 guests at a time. There are a number of private rooms, and there's a teahouse on the third floor.
