    Things to do in Gothenburg

Stroll along the historic harbourside to the City Museum, housed in the former East India Company headquarters, or take a boat trip across the river to relive history at the 17th-century Älvsborg Fortress. The Museum of World Cultures, in the Avenyn district, provides a very modern take on global diversity, while great views of the city are offered by an open-top Paddan Boat Tour which plies the canal waters around the centre.
