Bologna G Marconi Airport
Bologna G Marconi Airport is Italy's third most important international airport and handles nearly six million passengers each year. Located just 6 km (4 miles) from Bologna, taxis take passengers into the city centre in 15 minutes. An Aerobus shuttle service operates between the airport and the main railway station and takes around 20 minutes.
There are plenty of chances to spend your euros at Bologna Airport. Before departures on the first floor, find designer clothes and sunglasses at Fashion Gate and Watch Studio or buy regional food and wines from Vecchia Malga Aeroporto.
After departures, head to Conte of Florence for upmarket sports fashion, admire La Perla's beach and underwear range and Mandarina Duck's unique luggage designs or indulge in hand-made chocolates from Venchi.
There are also three Travel Value duty-free shops in the departure area. Tax-free shopping is also available to non-EU residents - customs duties are refunded on goods purchased in specific shops up to a value of €175.
Free wireless high-speed internet access is available throughout the airport.
East & Drink
If you're hungry, it's advisable to eat before going through to departures. Grab a quick snack in Autogrill's Time Cafe or the Waiting Cafe in Arrivals or choose from selected wines, salami and cheeses in the Bolicine Wine Bar. On the second floor, the viewpoint Ciao Restaurant serves regional Italian dishes while Spizzico's fast food options include pizzas, salads, panzerotti (fried ravioli), fresh fruit and the renowned Arancì, Mangiamisù and Profiterò desserts.
After Departures, choice is limited. Snacks are available in the Autogrill cafe or get your caffeine fix in the Segafredo Zanetti coffee bars – try coffee with amaretto. Prices at the airport may be slightly higher to similar outlets in Bologna itself.
