Review of Singapore
Singapore
Take flights to Singapore for Indian spices, shiny silver skyscrapers and plumes of Chinese incense.
Things to do
On a holiday in Singapore learn tranquil tai chi moves from local experts, soothed by the warm scents of frangipani flowers at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The dazzling orchid collection and jungle of towering rainforest trees are your verdant backdrop.
Shopping
Flights to Singapore give a chance to browse hand-carved garlanded statues from all over South Asia in Little India’s painted shophouses. A Bollywood DVD provides a foot-tapping soundtrack.
Restaurants
Discover new tastes on your Singapore city break, with a treasure-trove of local cuisines. Join locals at communal tables in bustling hawker centres and feast on chicken rice, spicy laksa soup or curry served on a banana leaf.
Nightlife
Blue wooden shutters of restored colonial houses overlook cobbled Emerald Hill, housing a cluster of bijoux bars. Cool down on warm evenings with a beer and watch Singapore’s night birds flock by from a tiny patio laced with palm trees.
When to go
KLM has frequent flights to Singapore. Catch the summer’s Great Singapore Sale, or buy tickets for the Singapore Grand Prix in September.

Excellent organized city01 Mar 12
Probably highest fine in the world for cycling in a pedestrian area (1000$), but there is no littering, public transport is excellent, no small crime and people are very friendly.John - Netherlands

The great thing about Singapore are the different neighbourhoods; you can walk from the Indian, to the Muslim or the Colonial quarter. Each with its own charme. Lot's of good restaurants as well.Hans - Germany
