Transportation in Gothenburg
Foot
Walking is often the quickest way to get about for short trips within the compact city centre, as well as being a great way to explore the attractions of the harbourside and the historic streets of Haga Old Town.
Taxi
A number of companies operate taxis in the city. They can be taken from strategically located ranks, and are bookable in advance by telephone, and in many cases online.
Coach
Gothenburg's bus network serves destinations spread around the city and its outskirts, and links with the tram lines in many central areas. The main bus terminus is adjacent to the central railway station.
Rent your car
A car is useful if you’re exploring other parts of Sweden, but you can explore the city centre on foot or via the tram network. The Göteborg Pass includes parking, public transport and entrance to most attractions, and is available for one- to five-day periods.

It represents excellent value, giving unlimited travel on trams, buses and some boat services, plus free admission to attractions and museums, along with some tours, and discounts in selected restaurants and shops.
