Barcelona Airport
Barcelona airport (El Prat de Llobregat) is one Spain's busiest, transporting around 34.4 million passengers a year from two terminals. Just 14 km (8.7 miles) from the city centre, the cheap and convenient Aerobús takes you there in a speedy 35 minutes.
Rail
The train is fast and comfortable. Line R2 North - Sant Celoni / Maçenet Massanes (RENFE) takes you into Barcelona Sants in around 20 minutes at 30-minute intervals and costs €3.60 one way. The station is located close to Terminals T2A and T2B and connected by a footbridge. There is a shuttle bus to/from Terminal T1. Once at Barcelona Sants you can transfer to the Metro or other Rail services.
Coach
The cheap and convenient Aerobus (A1) stops directly outside Terminal T1, delivering you to Plaça Catalunya via Placa Espanya. The journey time is around 35 minutes and buses run every 5-10 minutes. Single tickets cost €5.30 and are purchased on the bus. At busy times the bus gets quite full so choose a different option if you have lots of luggage.
Taxi
Official black and yellow Barcelona taxis wait outside all terminals and carry a maximum of four people including children. The journey into Barcelona takes around 30 minutes depending on your destination and costs around €25 from Terminal 2 and €30 from Terminal 1 on weekdays, slightly more at the weekends. There is an additional surcharge for each item of luggage. Check the meter for the final price and ask for a receipt.
Car
It's easy to drive to Terminals T1 & T2 from central Barcelona using the C31 Motorway. Car hire is available from terminals T1, T2B and T2C. Journey lengths vary but average around 25 minutes.
