Airport Bangkok
Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport is 25 km (16 miles) east of the city. It is a major hub in south-east Asia and flies an estimated 45 million passengers from its one huge terminal. The taxi journey into Bangkok takes around 30 minutes to one hour – traffic permitting.

The short-term car park is adjacent to the terminal building. The long-term car park is further away, with a shuttle-bus service to the terminal building. Passengers should allow around 15 minutes for the bus journey.
Specific airport features
The queues for flights can be extremely long: allow plenty of time for check-in. The walk to your departure gate can also be long. Check that your flight ticket includes departure tax, otherwise it is payable in Thai baht (cash) at check-in.

The huge terminal building has separate sections: Concourse buildings A and B are for domestic passengers, and concourse buildings C to G for international passengers. The check-in area for all flights is on level 4 of the terminal building.
