Review of Mexico City
Mexico City
Flights to Mexico City transport you to a cutting-edge modern metropolis proud of its rich traditions and glorious Aztec past.
Things to do
Dodge balloon sellers on Mexico City’s mighty Zócalo plaza and be spellbound by the lavish baroque portals of the Metropolitan Cathedral. Incense from age-old rituals wafts in from the square as you gaze up at mesmerizing 16th-century reliefs.
Shopping
Take Mexico City flights and explore San Ángel’s vibrant artisans’ quarter, showcasing traditional indigenous textiles and handcrafted jewellery. In the colonial-era streets, gossiping merchants deal in fine Mayan necklaces and Taxcan gold.
Restaurants
Culinary heaven awaits on your Mexico City holiday. Graze on ranch-style eggs, smothered in salsa roja (red chillies), at a jacaranda-filled Art Deco café in the fashionable La Condesa district.
Nightlife
Join in the festive atmosphere of an all-night taco stall after visiting La Roma’s bohemian bars - an essential Mexico City break experience. Piles of sizzling meat arrive wrapped in soft tortillas to a chorus of cheers from Mexico City locals.
When to go
KLM has frequent flights to Mexico City. Time your Mexico City holiday to coincide with November’s Day of the Dead celebrations or September’s Independence Day.

Mexico, the best place on earth10 Dec 12
Contrary to all I see in the news, Mexico happens to be an amazingly safe country. I spent my vacation in Mexico City and the states of Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Jalisco, Quintana Roo, Queretaro, Yucatan and Chiapas. These states offer breath taking sights (many places all over Chiapas), the best food I have ever eaten in my life (specially a small city in Hidalgo called Tulancingu) and lots and lots of wonderful beacher and people. The people were always nice and helpful. Moving there, hopefuly!Klaas - The Netherlands
