Grote attracties (Vaticaans museum, Villa Borghese) online vooraf reserveren bespaart u eindeloze rijen in het altijd drukke Rome. Boek dan wel bij de instelling zelf en niet een algemene site, want die rekenen veel extra kosten.

Ik probeer elk jaar naar Rome te gaan (elke keer 3 of 4 dagen). Vanaf het moment dat ik mijn voet op Fiumicino plaats gaat er een geschiedenis boek open. Het boek sluit als de deur van het vliegtuig weer dichtklapt na mijn reis. In Rome heeft bijna elk huis, elke plek een geschiedenis, een mooi verhaal. Voor de wandelaars onder ons: vergeet de metro, de bus of de taxi, pak een kaart en loop heel Rome rond. Als je in de metro zit, mis je driekwart van het verhaal... Ik ga geen enkele plek hier noemen, anders doe ik de andere plekken (die ik niet noem) tekort...Rome is één groot verhaal...waar je nog jaren van blijft praten...Ik ga er dit jaar weer heen. too much to see in one time....Jason - Nederland

Bezoek aan Italiaanse vrienden in Umbrie en Rome.21 Nov 12
Een goede reis met de KLM en een leuke rit met een huurauto naar Campi in Umbrie.De plaatsen Ascoli en L,aguila bezocht op de terugweg. 3 dagen in Rome.Vele malen in Rome geweest maar toch weer nieuwe ontdekkingen gedaan o.a.de film studios van Cinecitta, de moeite waard. Wel meer opletten voor zakkenrollers in het openbaar vervoer. Het is en voor ons blijft het een heerlijke stad.Fijne restaurants om heerlijk te eten.mariposa - Italie

Maak van te voren een schema waar je naar toe wil en ga niet in de zomer vanwege de warmte en nogmaals wees allert op zakkenrollers

voor aanvang hebben we ons goed ingelezen in Rome en de activiteiten en bezienswaardigheden. Tijdens het verblijf bijna alles te voet gedaan en genoten zoals Rome is. Qua maaltijden vermeden we de toeristische gebieden en liepen we een paar straten verder.titi - italie

goed voorbereiden, je interesses shiften en open staan voor het dagelijkse leven van de Romeinen. niet in augustus en september, (te heet en teveel toeristen)

We flew very early in the morning and arrived in Rome at 10am. It was going smooth, someone collected us and it was good as he was from my own countryman. He is residence in Rome so Italian language is not a problem. Italian are nice but cant speak English although some can speak a little bit. We travelled around the city of Rome and to the Vatican City. It was lovely experience and the whole group enjoyed the place. Beautiful place and the churches are beautiful too. We love the churches and the history beyond it.Nymph - UK

Best to go on a tourist bus where they give information about the touristic site and its 48 hours ride.

Huur een fiets en kom daarmee op plekjes waar veel minder toeristen zijn. Heel leuk om spoorzoekertje te doen in Rome. Stadsplattegrond zeer gewenst ;)
