Transportation in Las Vegas
Taxi
Taxis are available at the airport, all hotel entrances, and major attractions or can be hailed in the street.
Coach
The Citizens Area Transit runs the Deuce double-decker bus service along the length of the Strip 24/7. There are dozens of other routes through the city. All-Access Day Passes are the best value for The Strip.
Rent your car
The Strip, Las Vegas’s glittering centrepiece, is just made for cruising by car. Hire cars are plentiful and reasonably priced, the views out into the desert are spectacular, and free valet parking at the central casinos means that you can leave your car in safety for as little as a US$1 to US$2 tip.
Transportation tips
Driving in Vegas is frustrating; avoid it unless you have no alternative. A car is the only option when visiting Hoover Dam and other sights outside the city. Always carry lots of water if walking. Most casinos are connected by covered walkways.
