Shopping in Manila

Modern super-malls and sleek boutiques are mostly found around Malate, EDSA and Makati districts. Rummage around Ermita's shops and stalls for contemporary art, embroidered dresses, rattan chairs and brass jewellery boxes. Mabini is the best place to find local art, and Chinatown's best buy is jade jewellery. Bargain-hunters head to Divisoria Market, the city's largest flea market, to haggle over "designer" jewellery and kitchen utensils. Most shopping malls open daily 9am-9pm, and markets 8am-4pm.
