Curacao International Airport
Curaçao's modern international airport is equipped for all types of aircraft and with its strategic position between the Americas boasts frequent flights to and from Europe, the north Caribbean and South America. It was built in 2006 at a cost of US$44 million to handle an initial capacity of 1.6 million passengers per year, but is ultimately expandable to cope with up to a million more. Curaçao International boasts the longest runway in the Caribbean at 3,410 metres.
Coach
Inexpensive local buses run to Willemstad every 45 minutes from the airport from the east side of the building – look out for the word "BUS" in the licence plate and expect to pay around Nafl2 (US$1.25).

Taxi
Curaçao's many licensed taxis are easily recognizable as they are clearly signed and also have the letters TX on their licence plates. Every taxi driver must carry an ID badge and list of tariffs. Each taxi is fitted with a meter with standard rates that apply for a maximum of four people, including luggage. Expect to pay around Nafl55 (US$30) for the 20-minute journey from the airport to Willemstad. Allow for a 10% tip and a price hike of 25% between 11pm and 6am.
Car
Most visitors to Curaçao rent a car or jeep to explore the best beaches and dive spots on the island. There are plenty of rental agencies at the airport, including Avis, Budget, National and Hertz. Visitors with plans to spend time in Christoffel National Park should book a sturdy 4x4. Drivers should be warned that roads are busy island-wide, with signage that leaves a lot to be desired.
