St Maarten Princess Juliana Airport
St Maarten opened its four-level airport in 2006. Serving over 1.7 million visitors a year, it is a hub for many of the north-eastern Caribbean islands such as St Barts, Nevis, Anguilla, Antigua, Saba, St Eustatius and St Kitts. Situated 15km (9 miles) north-west of Philipsburg (the capital of St Maarten), the best way to get from the airport to the city is by taxi.
Princess Juliana Airport has a variety of shops selling duty-free alcohol, tobacco, cosmetics and perfume. Other shops sell souvenirs, leather goods, gifts, jewellery and t-shirts.
Wireless high-speed internet access is available throughout the airport. Travellers without computers can use the small booths/kiosks for internet connections.
East & Drink
Eateries are spread throughout the airport. Grab a bite at Quiznos Sub, Grab N Go, Domino's Pizza, Teriyaki Experience or Different Twist Pretzel. Get a drink at Caribbean Express Bar & Grill or Kaffe. Plantation Grill and Bar is a full service restaurant. Food at the airport is somewhat more expensive than in town.
