Birmingham International Airport
The UK's sixth-largest airport, second only to Heathrow for business traffic, Birmingham International Airport serves around nine million passengers a year through its revamped terminal. Birmingham city centre is 8 miles (13 km) away and a 10-20 minute train journey from Birmingham International station.
There are numerous shopping outlets at Birmingham airport, ranging from luxury Antler luggage to Superdry. Buy books, magazines and newspapers at WH Smith, jewellery at Accessorize or electrical goods at Dixons Travel. The World Duty Free shop sells tax–free designer sunglasses, perfumes and champagnes, saving travellers leaving the EU 20% off goods.
The majority of shops are open from 5am to 10pm. Some are open until the last flight leaves.
Free wireless high-speed internet access is available throughout the terminal.
East & Drink
There are several cafés, bars and restaurants in the airport, with more choice before security control. Enjoy fresh sandwiches at Pret a Manger, buy hot drinks in Costa Coffee, sample Italian-American food at Frankie & Benny's or grab a bite in Wetherspoon pubs before and after security, where you can also relax in Soho Coffee Co.
