KLM Takes Care
We take action on all fronts to limit our impact on the environment. We focus strongly on reducing carbon dioxide, for instance by investing in fleet renewal, using fuel more efficiently, using lighter materials on board and by investing in sustainable biofuel. By signing the United Nations Global Compact, KLM aims to emphasise its involvement in human rights, working conditions, anti-corruption and environmental issues. The UN’s Millennium Development Goals also serve as a guideline for our social and societal goals.
An innovative work approach is important in creating a balance between profitable growth and social and ecological values. What is more, we have embedded CSR into every layer of our organisation. It creates clear organisation and involvement. Not only do our employees value this approach; so do our customers, shareholders and surrounding communities.
It is why we, together with Air France, have ranked number 1 on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index in the transport sector for many years, now.
You can find numerous examples of our efforts in sustainability on the KLM Takes Care platform, which also offers a place where visitors can share ideas and make comments. You can find more information at klmtakescare.com.
