How does it work?

Development Program IT

The management programme offers you the unique opportunity to have a dynamic and exciting career at one of the largest airline companies in the world. During this two-year programme, you will be asked to carry out three or four assignments, ranging in difficulty, at various departments within KLM ICT. The assignments are very challenging in nature, diverse, based on the very latest technology and related to core business activities like ticket booking and checking in at the self-service check-in machines at Schiphol. You will be given considerable responsibility and every opportunity to further develop your knowledge and skills. The ultimate goal is to prepare you for a management position within our IT division, KLM ICT, after two years. Naturally you will not be expected to figure it all out on your own, but will receive guidance and coaching from an experienced mentor.

 

Eligible?

During the selection process, we focus on a number of hard criteria: you have no more than two years of work experience, you have graduated or are close to graduating from a higher vocational or Master’s programme, and you have an excellent command of Dutch and English. Preferable areas of study are Computer Science, Business Administration, Mathematics or Econometrics, though we certainly do not rule out other areas. We are looking for candidates with the right personality, management experience and a demonstrable affinity with IT. The right candidate is driven, well able to work as part of a team and has a commercial and result-oriented focus. It is also important that you are able to motivate others, are persuasive and have interpersonal sensitivity. You should also have strong analytical skills, good organisational awareness and excellent social skills.

 

Selection procedure

If your CV shows enough promise for participation in the programme, we would be happy to invite you to an initial interview. The selection procedure consists of various rounds of interviews and an assessment.
