What is Seat Choice?
Seat Choice, an exclusive feature when you check in online, gives you the option to reserve a specific seat. You can choose from:
- A seat with extra legroom
- A seat in a row with only two seats next to each other
Seat Choice is available on all flights operated by KLM:
- On European flights, you can reserve a seat with extra legroom.
- On intercontinental flights, you can reserve a seat with extra legroom or a seat in a row with only two seats next to each other.
Coach Choice is available on flights operated by Northwest Airlines (NWA). When you make use of Coach Choice, you are assured of a window or an aisle seat.
When can you opt for Seat Choice?
You can make use of Seat Choice during the online booking procedure for all flights operated by KLM unless you will be departing from the United States of America, Ecuador or Peru.
Coach Choice is available on flights operated by Northwest Airlines from Amsterdam with the following destinations: Boston, Detroit, Hartford/Springfield, Memphis, Minneapolis, New York (Newark International Airport), Portland (Oregon) and Seattle.
Seat Choice: reserving and paying
You can make use of Seat Choice when you check in online between 30 hours and 1 hour before departure (24 hours to 1 hour when travelling to the US). Because the number of Seat Choice seats is limited, we advise you to check in online as early as possible if you want to reserve one of these seats. The cost of a reservation applies to each seat and to each flight. On European flights, a Seat Choice seat costs EUR 25.00 and on intercontinental flights EUR 50.00. This amount can be paid only by credit card.
Flying Blue members
If you are a Platinum or Gold member of Flying Blue or WorldPerks, you do not have to pay for Seat Choice. When you check in online, you can reserve your seat with extra legroom or more privacy at no additional cost. Because the number of Seat Choice seats is limited, however, we advise you to check in and reserve your Seat Choice seat in good time.
