DESIGN AND WIN YOUR KITE WITH KLM
Entrants will be able to use the game’s preset patterns and their own Facebook pictures to personalize their kites. They will then be able to invite their friends to vote for their creation for a chance to instantly win one of 300 KLM kites. At the end of the contest, a kite maker will be commissioned to craft the 4 kites with the most votes, and these will be awarded to their designers.
The contest, which coincides with the arrival of spring, will also give fans of the KLMCanada Facebook page the opportunity to share their kite-flying pictures and chat about their favourite kite-flying spots in their area.
The contest ends May 6, 2012. Entrants must be 18, reside in Canada and go to www.facebook.com/KLMCanada and click the “Like” button. The number of entries is unlimited. The pictures of the winning kite designs must be copyright free and be high resolution to be reproduced on the kite fabric. Other conditions apply and are available on the contest page.
KLM, social media and mobile apps
KLM, widely recognized for being among the most social-media-savvy airlines, especially on the heels of its recent Meet & Seat program launch, also has original iPhone apps. The KLM app is for managing one’s trip; the KLM Houses app keeps track of one’s inventory and gives information about the Delft Blue houses offered in World Business Class; the KLM Passport app turns the user’s trip pictures and videos into a movie; the KLM TripShake app allows one to find their next trip destination simply by shaking their phone; and the KLM Movies & More app provides a complete listing of all the programming aboard KLM flights. All of the apps are available in English.
