With AIR FRANCE, KLM and SkyTeam

Use your Award Miles for all types of flights. Whether your priority is price, flexibility or a particular cabin class, you will find an award ticket to suit you. The number of Award Miles you’ll need for each flight varies depending on the flexibility of your travel dates and the award ticket’s conditions. From upgrades to lounge access, you can use your Award Miles to make the most of special services that give you that little bit extra.

Type of awardUsage
Classic AwardYou can use your Award Miles for an award ticket* to any destination you choose. The price in Miles depends on the destination and cabin and varies depending on seat availability. An award ticket is transferable to any beneficiary. You may cancel or modify a Classic Award. However, a fee of € 45 will be charged.

It is possible to combine flights of AIR FRANCE, KLM and any airline partner on the same ticket. A Classic Award one-way ticket** may be purchased for half the price of a Classic Award return ticket from AIR FRANCE, KLM and all airline partners.

* Booking award tickets is subject to the availability of seats in the cabin concerned. Please bear in mind that airport and security taxes are not covered by your Miles and must be paid separately. The same applies for (part of) the carrier-imposed international surcharges on long-haul flights.
An issuance fee of € 15 (or equivalent in other currency) will be charged if the award ticket is issued via the Flying Blue Customer Service Centre. For more information, please contact the Flying Blue Service Centre.  

** Stopovers are not permitted on Classic Award one-way tickets. One-way award tickets for domestic flights inside France can be booked online only.

Flex AwardWith AIR FRANCE, KLM and our partners Air Europa, Kenya Airways, and TAROM, you can book an award ticket* on the flight of your choice even if no seats are available for Classic Awards. Flex Award tickets can be changed or cancelled free of charge. The number of Miles required for a Flex Award is higher than those required for the Classic Award in the same cabin.**

* Booking Flex Awards is based on the availability of seats on the chosen flight.
** Please bear in mind that airport and security taxes are not covered by your Miles and must be paid separately. The same applies for (part of) the carrier imposed international surcharges on long-haul flights.

Promo Award@With Promo Awards@, you save between 25 to 50% on the Award Miles usually required for a Classic Award ticket to certain destinations in the same cabin class. Upgrade awardOur upgrade awards offer you the chance to enjoy the privileges of Premium Economy, Business Class or First Class on a flight with AIR FRANCE*, KLM and some of our SkyTeam partners. You can also give an upgrade award to anyone you choose, even if you’re not travelling with them.

Upgrade awards are subject to availability and on a per-flight basis. They are available for a restricted number of booking classes. The number of Miles needed for an upgrade award varies per booking class. Check the fare structure for more information.

Only for AIR FRANCE and KLM flights you can request an upgrade online via My Trip. After you find the booking you wish to request an upgrade for, select “change flight” and then select “upgrade now”. After you log in to your Flying Blue account you can proceed to upgrade the flight, provided the fare allows for an upgrade and seats are available. Alternatively you can contact your Flying Blue Service Centre at least 24 hours** before departure when flying with AIR FRANCE, KLM, Delta Air Lines, and our partners Air Europa, Kenya Airways, Aircalin and TAROM. Your upgrade request will be handled after the necessary checks and if seats are available. You can also visit one of our ticket offices.

* On AIR FRANCE flights with a La Première cabin class, Flying Blue Elite and Elite Plus members can also use their Miles to request an upgrade from Business to La Première, with a maximum of one upgrade per flight (upgrade from Economy to La Première is not possible).

** You can request an upgrade at the airport on the day of departure for all KLM long-haul flights, Delta Air Lines flights to Mumbai and selected Kenya Airways flights departing from Amsterdam.
SkyTeam upgrade awardSkyTeam upgrade awards are available on the following SkyTeam airlines: Aeroflot, Aeromexico, China Airlines, China Southern and Korean Air. An upgrade award on one of these airlines must be requested at least 3 days before departure. You can also give an upgrade award to anyone you choose, even if you’re not travelling with them.
Access to loungesOur lounges are specially designed to satisfy all your needs. Many are fully equipped with Internet access, so you are able to get down to business, check your personal e-mails, or simply enjoy a little online entertainment. Flying Blue Silver members can use their Award Miles to pay the entrance fee, while Flying Blue Gold and Platinum members may use their Miles to pay for the lounge access of extra guests.

    If you want to fly with a non-SkyTeam airline, please contact the Flying Blue Service Centre two weeks before your flight and they will help you make your reservation.

    Flying Blue Store makes spending Miles easier than ever.

    Choose from a wide variety of services and products on which to spend your Miles – online!
    Simply go to the Flying Blue Store to select the award you desire, then log in using your Flying Blue number and PIN to order an e-voucher. As soon as the e-voucher appears in your inbox, just contact the partner’s reservation centre directly to complete your purchase, as detailed in the e-voucher. It’s that simple!

Making a donation to charity

You can donate your Award Miles to a charity chosen by you from the list of Flying Blue’s partner associations. The minimum donation is 3,000 Award Miles, which you can increase in units of 1,000 Miles (provided that you have at least 10,000 Award Miles on your Flying Blue account).
