New baggage rules

To keep our tickets nicely priced, Ivory Flying Blue members will be able to take hand baggage (12 kg) only for free on most European flights on or after 1 October.

They can then check in a bag for just EUR 7.50 each way, if arranged in advance on KLM.com. Paying with Miles is also possible.

This rule already applies to all non-Flying Blue members. They can check in a suitcase for EUR 15 each way for these flights - if arranged before departure at KLM.com.

Exceptions: free check-in baggage

You can bring at least 1 suitcase free of charge - even after 1 October – in any of these cases:

  • On all intercontinental KLM flights and on European KLM flights that are part of an intercontinental trip
  • On European KLM flights to and from Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine and Italy (except to and from Florence, Bologna, Turin and Venice).
  • If you are a Silver, Gold or Platinum Flying Blue member
  • With fully flexible ticket types Y & B
