With these fees, KLM  aims to cover for the cost of services related to the reservation, booking and sale of flight tickets, as well as for costs allocated to the development and maintenance of tools that facilitate such services. This way, KLM sets a clear separation between the fare you pay for the flight, and the fees you pay for additional services bound to the acquisition of your ticket, which complies with generalized trends followed by airlines and travel agents alike in the Swiss market.

The amount of the KLM ticketing service fees depends on the services you require.

The model used by KLM for the ticketing fees foresees different amounts based on the destination you travel to (shot haul our long haul trip), and/or based on where you purchase your KLM ticket (commercial channel). This way, the lowest fees are found on KLM.com website, as you perform the booking all by your own without the help of a KLM agent. Higher ticketing service fees are used whenever you require the assistance of professional travel advisors (KLM staff or your trusted travel agent) for the planning of your journey.
